Drop-ship the DIY kit
If you just want the equipment sent to your door, we can drop-ship the full MRCOOL DIY kit to your house. That’s a good option when you’re installing it yourself and you still want to buy through a local partner.
Shop DIY kitsDirect MRCOOL partner
At RJ HVAC, we’re a direct MRCOOL partner. We help Flathead Valley homes and businesses choose the right mini-split kit — mostly the DIY® 5th Generation and Hyper Heat lines — then we walk through warranty, sizing, and what the equipment actually costs.
MRCOOL mini splits heat and cool a room — or a whole house with multiple heads — without running new ductwork. That’s a good fit for additions, shops, older Kalispell houses, and mountain homes where a full ducted system isn’t practical.
As a local partner, we don’t just point you at a box online. We look at the space, the electrical, and how cold it actually gets here, then match a kit. Prices on this page are for the equipment / complete kit only — indoor unit, outdoor unit, and the line set that comes with the kit. They are not an installed price.
MRCOOL is the line we partner on, but it’s not the only brand we install. We work on other mini-split and HVAC brands too — those can be discussed when we look at the job.
Prices on this page are our current MAP from the MRCOOL dealer portal. Click a price to open that kit in the shop and order or request an install quote. Free shipping on orders $1,000+.
If we install it, that is extra. Labor, electrical, mounting, line-set length, permits, and extras are not in the kit number. Those costs vary with the building — how far the line set runs, whether a new circuit is needed, how the outdoor unit is set, and how hard the space is to work in. We’ll quote the job before work starts.
You don’t have to do it one way. At RJ HVAC we can drop-ship any MRCOOL unit to your house, or handle the install locally.
If you just want the equipment sent to your door, we can drop-ship the full MRCOOL DIY kit to your house. That’s a good option when you’re installing it yourself and you still want to buy through a local partner.
Shop DIY kitsIf you want it hung and running, we install MRCOOL systems in the Flathead Valley — including Advantage and Olympus, which always need a tech. Install is billed on top of the kit. That number changes with electrical, line-set run, mounting, and how the building is laid out. We quote it before work starts. We also install other mini-split brands; those can be discussed when we look at the job.

Standard mini splits lose capacity when it gets seriously cold. MRCOOL’s DIY Hyper Heat 5th Gen is built for an operational range of −22°F to 122°F and still cools in summer heat. ENERGY STAR® Cold Climate. For a lot of Flathead Valley homes, shops, and cabins, this is the kit we start with — not the cheaper standard 115V 12k.
12k and 18k Hyper Heat kits are the sizes currently listed. Both are 230V complete kits with a 25-ft line set. Equipment only.

One outdoor unit, two to six indoor heads. Heat the shop and the office, or a few rooms in the house, without a full ducted system. Indoor sizes on the factory chart are 6k–24k. Size my system only allows published mixes — and if every head runs at once, output will not exceed the outdoor rating.
Advantage and Olympus are MRCOOL’s contractor lines. They are not DIY kits. A professional HVAC contractor has to run and vacuum the line set and start the system. Equipment costs less than a comparable DIY kit because you’re not paying for pre-charged Quick Connect® lines.
Olympus ENERGY STAR (O-ES) is high SEER, heats to about −13°F, and is not Hyper Heat. Advantage is rated to about 5°F — cooling-first, shortest warranty. For a Flathead winter as the only heat source, we start with DIY Hyper Heat — drop-ship it, or we hang that same kit.
Single head
One indoor head, one outdoor unit. Lowest equipment price in the MRCOOL mini-split lineup. About 5°F heat. 2-year compressor / 1-year parts — shorter than DIY and Olympus. Good for a single space when cooling is the main reason you’re buying it and a professional HVAC contractor will install it.
Complete Advantage systems (indoor + outdoor). Line set is extra — a contractor flares and vacuums it. Click a price to shop.
Single or multi head
High-SEER contractor single zone, or a multi-head condenser up to six indoor units. Factory heat to about −13°F. Not Hyper Heat — for Kalispell primary heat we start with DIY Hyper Heat and hang it. Same 7/5 warranty as DIY. Equipment only; we flare and vacuum.
Olympus ENERGY STAR complete systems. Equipment only. HVAC tech required. Click a price to shop.
Advantage and Olympus warranties follow professional installation. Contractor labor is extra and quoted from the actual job — not a flat add-on on top of the kit price. We stock DIY, Hyper Heat, Advantage, and Olympus at MAP; we don’t list Easy Pro or DIY Select kits here.
Factory coverage is not the same on every line we sell:
MRCOOL also offers an optional Care Program (about $14.99/mo, with scheduled maintenance) that can extend coverage on qualifying systems. We don’t sell a Care Kit as a shop SKU — ask us if it’s worth it on your job.
Warranty terms come from MRCOOL’s published residential catalog. Coverage follows their conditions — original owner, proper installation, and remaining at the original address.
Yes. The numbers on this page are typical advertised prices for the complete MRCOOL kit (indoor unit, outdoor unit, and included line set). They are not an installed price. If we install the system, labor, electrical, mounting, line-set length, permits, and extras are additional. Those costs vary from job to job. We’ll quote that before work starts.
DIY kits come with pre-charged 25-ft Quick Connect line sets so a handy homeowner can install them, or a contractor can — 7-year compressor / 5-year parts. Advantage and Olympus are not DIY: a professional HVAC contractor has to flare, vacuum, and start them. Advantage is the lowest equipment price, single-head only, about 5°F heat, and a shorter 2-year compressor / 1-year parts warranty. Olympus ENERGY STAR (O-ES) is high-SEER contractor gear that heats to about −13°F — not Hyper Heat. For a Kalispell winter as the only heat, we start with DIY Hyper Heat (R-454B, −22°F) and we can hang that kit.
Advantage or regular Olympus ENERGY STAR if cooling is the main job. Equipment costs less than DIY because you’re not paying for a pre-charged DIY line set, and a professional HVAC contractor has to be on site to install it. Advantage is rated to about 5°F, so it isn’t the pick for primary heat through a Flathead winter — that’s DIY Hyper Heat, and we can hang it.
Yes. Olympus can be a single-head system or a multi-head system with up to six indoor units on one outdoor condenser. Each head is controlled on its own, which is a good fit for a small house, a shop plus office, or rooms that aren’t used the same way.
No. You can have the DIY kit drop-shipped to your house and install it yourself, or hire a professional (including us) to hang it. Advantage and Olympus always need a professional HVAC contractor. At RJ HVAC we help with sizing, equipment, drop-ship, and we can quote the install if you want us on the job.
Yes. We can drop-ship all MRCOOL units, including complete DIY kits, straight to your home if you only need the equipment.
Yes. MRCOOL is the line we partner on, but we install other mini-split and HVAC brands as well. If you have a different system in mind, we can discuss it and quote it.
Hyper Heat. The kits we sell for that are DIY Hyper Heat — 12k and 18k complete kits, R-454B, rated −22°F to 122°F. We can drop-ship them or hang them. Standard 5th Gen DIY still heats (about −13°F) but is not Hyper Heat. Olympus ENERGY STAR is also about −13°F — not Hyper Heat. Advantage is about 5°F — cooling-first, not the only heat in a Flathead winter.
DIY 5th Gen, DIY Hyper Heat, DIY multi-zone, and Olympus: 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts. Advantage is different — 2 years compressor / 1 year parts. Labor is not included. Optional MRCOOL Care (about $14.99/mo, with scheduled maintenance) can extend coverage on qualifying systems; we don’t sell the Care Kit as a cart item.
Many high-efficiency heat pumps can. Flathead Electric Cooperative and Lincoln Electric Cooperative offer incentives on qualifying equipment. We’ll help you check current rebates when we size the system.
Call or text RJ HVAC. We’ll match a MRCOOL mini split to the job, quote current equipment pricing, and drop-ship the kit or install it locally.
